The minimum requirements to apply for an ISA:
• You must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• You must be 18 years of age, or the age of consent in your state
• You must not be currently delinquent on any payments
There are minimum requirements because an ISA is our investment (of time, money and resources) in you to boost your earning ability.
So we assess your Attitude, Aptitude, Ambition and Accountability to gauge your future potential.
That said, none of these are factors for being eligible for an ISA: age, sex, race, sexual orientation, religion, national origin or being part of a protected class.
And, since we want to make sure your ISA payments are always manageable, we may consider any other pre-existing financial obligations you have (including whether you have any other ISAs or outstanding educational loans). Those can make it harder for you to manage your ISA payments.
Lastly, we may also look at whether you have any recent garnishments, lien attachments, judgments or tax liens, have recently declared bankruptcy or whether there are any unsatisfied suits or judgments pending against you or any other history of non-payments.
